May we all remember that we are our Father in Heaven's Children, and he loves us and longs to share that love with us. May we also show reverence for the pure minded children in our lives. Thy Will Be Done...God So Loved the World

The Savior prayed to the Father "nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." May we remember "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (Scriptures Luke 22:42 http://bit.ly/1bDQTsL ; John 3:16 http://bit.ly/12NHwk2 ).

The Savior was obedient in all things that were asked of him, and because of that, we can return and live with him and our Father in Heaven again. The Lord doesn't ask us to go through what the Savior went through, just wants us to be obedient to his commandments. May we remember the sacrifice of the Savior, and as we pray to our Father in Heaven in gratitude for the Savior's sacrifice, may we feel of his love for us.

The Daughter of Jairus

Even in the face of Laughter, the Savior knew who he was, and took compassion even to the raising from the dead as with the Daughter of Jairus. "And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway...." (Luke 8:52-55 http://bit.ly/1iskKqE )

What a wonderful parable is the lesson of the ninety and nine and the one.

"What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?"

Our Father in Heaven seeks all of his children to return to him, and the Savior wrought out the atonement so that any who come to him may be forgiven.

May we all remember that in our daily lives, and seek to be less judgemental, and more Christlike in our service to others.

Read the Promise of the Book of Mormon Online now

Please share this. read the promise of the Book of Mormon online now at http://bit.ly/10t8QYm Find out for yourself what the Book of Mormon is. Together with the Bible, The Book of Mormon is the inspired Word of God, a record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. From the title page, it is "to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations"

Prophets were told by God what to include in the book for us in our day. Moroni says "Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing."

For God to know what we would need to know in our day makes the Book of Mormon a priceless gift. May we read it prayerfully as we read the Bible.

Listen to the Voice from all eternity to eternity, even Jesus Christ

"Hearken and listen to the voice of him who is from all eternity to all eternity, the Great I Am, even Jesus Christ—The light and the life of the world; a light which shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not." As the Savior followed the Father in all things, even to Gethsemane and Golgotha, may we similarly follow the Savior in all things we may be called to go through, and to have the spirit to be with us for time, and to live in the presence of God and the Lamb for all eternity.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden..."

Today's message and picture come from Liz Lemon Swindle, the artist, who continues to paint even though every brushstroke is painful. "Early in His ministry, Jesus sat on the shores of Galilee and said to the multitudes, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden... take my yoke upon you, and learn of me... and you shall find rest unto your souls."
(Matthew 11:28-29)

We each feel "heavy laden" at times and pray the Lord will take away our burdens. But rather than remove our sufferings the Lord instead asks us to walk alongside Him yoked together. It is only as we walk with Him we come to learn who He is and how much He loves us. While our burdens are still upon our shoulders, when we walk together with the Lord and let Him carry them our burdens feel lighter and we find the rest He gives so freely."

Jesus Christ, our Advocate

This picture and message is from an artist who continues to paint pictures of the Savior even though she has rheumatoid arthritis, and every brushstroke is painful.

"As Jesus hung on the cross, He looked to those who stood at His feet and said, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” – Luke 23:34

Though this plea certainly referred to those who were crucifying Him, it also applied to all of who fall short and sin. An advocate is one who pleads another’s cause and Christ is truly our advocate with the Father. The apostle John wrote, “And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” – John 2:1...

When I look at this painting I feel that the Lord truly is our Advocate. His sacrifices make possible our forgiveness and in His mercies we find hope. I am grateful for His love and I long to keep His commandments that I might feel of His love and know Him."

The Title of Liberty...if all men were like unto Moroni

May each of us be like Moroni, for if all of us were, the very powers of hell would be shaken forever. "And it came to pass that he rent his coat; and he took a piece thereof, and wrote upon it—In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children—and he fastened it upon the end of a pole.

And he fastened on his head-plate, and his breastplate, and his shields, and girded on his armor about his loins; and he took the pole, which had on the end thereof his rent coat, (and he called it the title of liberty) and he bowed himself to the earth, and he prayed mightily unto his God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon his brethren, so long as there should a band of Christians remain to possess the land—" (Alma 46:13 http://bit.ly/12oIdBb )

A bit more about Moroni:

"Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." (Alma 48:17 http://bit.ly/1dnRJOJ )

The Liahona and our own Modern-Day Liahonas

"And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the pointers which were in the ball, that they did work according to the faith and diligence and heed which we did give unto them. And there was also written upon them a new writing, which was plain to be read, which did give us understanding concerning the ways of the Lord; and it was written and changed from time to time, according to the faith and diligence which we gave unto it. And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things." (1 Nephi 16:28-29 http://bit.ly/1a3g8bb )

The Great Mediator, who pleads with the Father for us...

The Savior is our advocate with the Father, and how must he plead to the Father in our behalf. And this so that through prayer we may be comforted in trials, may be forgiven, and may return back to the presence of the Father, all by the power of the Atonement. Lehi spoke to his sons of looking to the Savior, the Great Mediator.

"And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit; "

May we all look to the Great Mediator, even Christ, who makes intercession for us with the Father, and so gain eternal life again with him.

The Touch of the Savior, who is over all the earth

Please take a moment to read. May we all be grateful that the Savior is over all, and that even with all that goes wrong in the world, that the world is in our Savior's loving hands because of the atonement. He is more loving, glorious, righteous, and powerful than any man or organization that ever existed in the earth, and is yet so personal that he can gently touch the deepest chambers of the most pained heart. "And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands" (Hebrews 1:10 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/heb/1.10?lang=eng#9 ).

The Story of Thomas - And us

The story of Thomas can help us build our own Faith, for "Blessed are all they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

Thomas, after seeing and feeling the prints of the nails in his hands and feet and side exclaimed, "My Lord and my God."

and then "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book" (John 20:26-30 http://bit.ly/19PM6l5 )

May we all have faith in the Savior, whether we have seen him, felt of his presence, or have faith through the spirit. If we follow the spirit, we will, at the last day, recognize him because we will be like him.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

"We have the gospel of Jesus Christ to shape and guide our lives if we choose it. And with prophets revealing to us our place in the plan of salvation, we can live with perfect hope and a feeling of peace...In all conditions, we can choose the right with the guidance of the Spirit. "

—Henry B. Eyring, "Mountains to Climb", Ensign and Liahona, May 2012

From the artist, Del Parson, about this painting of the Savior. "While painting The Savior, I wanted to emphasize characteristics such as kindness, purity, and love. The result is an image of a loving Christ that appears to be looking at us in admiration. His subtle smile expresses a wonderful feeling of acceptance. We must remember to see each other as Christ would see us, as friends and children of God with great potential."

What wonderful promises the Lord makes to us with the analogy of sheep and the Good Shepherd. "And he gathereth his children from the four quarters of the earth; and he numbereth his sheep, and they know him; and there shall be one fold and one shepherd; and he shall feed his sheep, and in him they shall find pasture" (1 Nephi 22:25 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/22.25?lang=eng#24 )

He also speaks to those of us working in the flock, "Feed the flock of God which is among you...And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away" ( 1 Peter 5:2-4 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/1-pet/5.2-4?lang=eng#1 )

Conversion Story: "the Lord's words, the Lord's power and the Lord's promises"

A conversion story: "the Lord's words, the Lord's power and the Lord's promises"

The work is going forward.  Here is a story from my niece who is on a mission in California, and her story of the conversion of a man she was teaching (she is a new missionary).

In her words; "We also have another baptism coming up this weekend. He's an older gentleman and met the missionaries at the Oakland temple visitors center..., and then started learning  everything down here. The other sisters had only taught a lesson or two, but he was very hesitant to be baptized. I think it was my third lesson with him that we finally committed him. Okay fine, I did it. First baptismal commitment of the mish. It was actually one of the most powereful ones I've felt since being out here. We were in the middle of a lesson when my scriptures blew open to a passage about baptism I had marked. I felt impressed to have him read it, so I did. Sis Poz had no idea what I was doing, here is this little greenie ruining a perfectly good lesson, but afterwards I was able to promise him specific things that I never could have thought of on my own. My words were not my own. They were the Lord's words, the Lord's power and the Lord's promises. It was so neat. Everyone was tearing up. And he said he'd be baptized! " Sister Katie Monson

As the prophet Joseph said “The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done” (History of the Church, 4:540).

This once lost lamb is going home, back to the fold...

"No one is perfect. We do things...wrong, and then feel terrible about it. The way to get over it is to turn to the Savior. Knowing that the Lord compared Himself to a shepherd, who would willingly leave his other ninety-nine sheep to find the one that is lost, tells us that each individual — no matter who they are or what they did — is important to Him.

The setting of Black Lamb is in the area around the Sea of Galilee. A young lamb as this one, if lost, would surely die. Similarly, if we lose our spiritual way, we will not return to our Father in Heaven. Instead however, this once-lost lamb is going home, back to the fold, where it will be safe and loved." -Del Parson, artist of this picture, Black Lamb

Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men

"And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him."

"Come unto me...and I will give you rest..."

The Lord invites all to come to him and find rest. He says "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 http://bit.ly/15li8b6)

May we all come to the Savior and find rest through studying his words and pouring our hearts out in prayer to Our Father in Heaven in the Savior's name. And may we invite others to do the same through our words and through our service to them.

What beautiful words of comfort. May goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives until we return to our Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ with our families again.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters...Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."

General Conference is a declaration that Jesus is the Christ

What a blessing Conferences are today, as it was during the time of King Benjamin. From Elder Holland "a general conference of the Church is a declaration to all the world that Jesus is the Christ, that He and His Father, the God and Father of us all, appeared to the boy prophet Joseph Smith in fulfillment of that ancient promise that the resurrected Jesus of Nazareth would again restore His Church on earth and again “come in like manner as [those Judean Saints had] seen him [ascend] into heaven.” This conference and every other conference like it is a declaration that He condescended to come to earth in poverty and humility, to face sorrow and rejection, disappointment and death in order that we might be saved from those very fates as our eternity unfolds, that “with his stripes we are healed.” This conference proclaims to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people the loving Messianic promise that “his mercy endureth for ever.” (Prophets in the Land again, October 2006 General Conference).

May we all be nourished spiritually as we take the time to watch General Conference this weekend.

Son of Man...To comfort us

If you are in the middle of trials, or even in good times, pour your hearts out to our Father in Heaven, in the name of Christ, and through the power of the Atonement, he can and will lift you.

The Savior is there to comfort and lift us. In the horrible trial Liberty Jail, the Lord comforted the prophet Joseph by saying

"know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.

The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?"

The Greatest of all will never let us suffer more than we are able, but will lift us and comfort us. May we ever be grateful for that.

The Light and Life of the World...

Plz share this. "Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am the life and the light of the world...verily, verily, I say unto you, that as many as receive me, to them will I give power to become the sons [and daughters] of God, even to them that believe on my name. Amen." (D & C 11:28, 30 http://bit.ly/GAbxQD )

Christ in Emmaus

"And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?"

May we our hearts burn within us as we follow the Savior's words in our own lives, and as the scriptures are opened to us by reading or by the Lord's servants.
