How must the Savior pray for us, and how should we pray?

What marvelous things the Savior must have asked the Father for on our behalf?  And how must he pray for us when he isn't in the presence of the Father? Scriptures record "And when he had said these words, he himself also knelt upon the earth; and behold he prayed unto the Father, and the things which he prayed cannot be written, and the multitude did bear record who heard him. And after this manner do they bear record: The eye hath never seen, neither hath the ear heard, before, so great and marvelous things as we saw and heard Jesus speak unto the Father; And no tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father" (3 Nephi 17:15-17 ).

The Savior is our advocate with the Father, and the blessings that await us as we turn to him in prayer are just waiting to be poured out upon us, so that our "cup runneth over," both in this life, and in the life to come.  And may we become one with the Father and the Son by making our prayers more meaningful, reaching out in faith as the Father of us all listens and lovingly responds.

Call upon the Father, in the name of Christ, and pour out your heart in prayer, and pray about not just yourself, but pray for those around you, for they are God's children as well.  And then act and serve others.  If you will do this, you will find that you are more a part of the Father's plan, and will be following the example of the Savior.  And you will be able to feel a power of the spirit, and be able to feel of the abundant blessings of the Lord upon you, as our Prophet has said.

The scripture is from the Book of Mormon.  Find out more about Christ by reading the Promise of the Book of Mormon online now at or get a free copy at
