And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child" (Luke 2:1-5 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/2.1-5 )
The Prophesied of Savior was about to be born. He is the true reason for this Season. Without him we wouldn't have Christmas. We are the recipients of the priceless gift of his birth, life, ministry, atonement, death, and resurrection, and triumph over sin and death. No more sacred events have ever been recorded than than these, both in the old world and the new.
This year, make a determination to study more of his life, to learn more of him, and to follow him. He is real, and is active in our lives, more than we know. Remember he is the God of the whole world, yet individual enough to touch our tender hearts.
