The plea to "come follow me"

The Savior knows what it is like to be alone.  He experienced it in the Garden, and on the cross.  To us, he is there to comfort us as we come unto him and be with him in his service.  The scriptures say "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."

We don't have to bear the cross, or Gethsemane, but we all have our trials.  May we all follow the Savior, and lose ourselves in his work so that they may be lessened.  How many of us are willing to take time from watching tv, movies, games, or doing other things to help out in the work of the Lord or in serving others, even if just in our own families?

As we will serve others as the Savior would have us do, we will be blessed with the spirit, will find who we really are, and will feel more of a closeness to our Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ.  As King Benjamin said "When ye are in the service of your fellow men, ye are only in the service of your God."

May we join the Savior in his work by lifting others, whether by kind words, a smile, or by helping to serve them in other ways, too numerous to name here.  We will join with him, and experience an abundance of the spirit if we do, and eternal life in the world to come.
