"The Standard of truth has been erected..."

Our Savior, Jesus Christ is the author of this great Latter-Day Work, restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith.  The Prophet Joseph had revealed to him the following- “The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing, persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny many defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited very clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.”
(Quote is The Standard of Truth by Joseph Smith Jr., History of the Church, 4:540 quoted in "The Truth of God Shall Go Forth," Elder Ballard October 2008 General Conference http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2008/10/the-truth-of-god-shall-go-forth )

We live in a time where many tell false things about the restored church, and it is mocked and ridiculed both by other churches and the media.  Yet it still continues to bring converts, because the true seekers after truth will find it.  It will just continue to grow, one by one, testimony by testimony.

This gospel will never again be taken from the earth.  It will just continue to grow through the millenium, when Christ himself comes to rule and reign.  He today stands at the head of this church which bears his name, and yet is personal enough to be able to touch each of our lives individually through the spirit.

May we ever be grateful for what the Lord accomplished through the Prophet Joseph Smith.  Because of that, we have blessings that ages of people yearned for, but could never find, but will have the opportunity to accept.

And both we and they will be able to return to the presence of the Lord, to dwell with him and our Father in Heaven and our families forever.  To be able to do his work, and to inherit all that he has is the blessing extended to all who seek after him.

Seek Christ.  Find him.  And devote your lives to him.

As if the Savior were there, beside us

When we have the holy ghost, or the comforter, it is as if the Savior were there with us.  "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;" (John 14:16 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/14.16) .

How many times when we have hard times would we love to have the Savior there, beside us, comforting us, strengthening us, and helping us in every way.  Through the spirit and with the power of prayer, it can be that way.

May we ever turn to the Savior of all in all things, in sickness and in health, good times and bad, and feel of his comforting influence.

I have Prayed for Thee...

How must the Savior pray for us? What marvelous things he must ask the Father for on our behalf? And how can we do the same? 3 Nephi gives us a glimpse of how wonderful those things are; "And when he had said these words, he himself also knelt upon the earth; and behold he prayed unto the Father, and the things which he prayed cannot be written, and the multitude did bear record who heard him. And after this manner do they bear record: The eye hath never seen, neither hath the ear heard, before, so great and marvelous things as we saw and heard Jesus speak unto the Father; And no tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father" (3 Nephi 17:15-17 http://bit.ly/180Iu2k ).

The Savior is our advocate with the Father, and the blessings that await us as we turn to him in prayer are just waiting to be poured out upon us, so that our "cup runneth over," both in this life, and in the life to come.

Serve others, pour out your heart in prayer, and pray about not just yourself, but pray for those around you, for they are God's children as well.  And then act and serve others.  If you will do this, you will find that you are more a part of the Father's plan, and will be following the example of the Savior.  And you will be able to feel a power of the spirit, and be able to feel of the abundant blessings of the Lord upon you, as our leaders have said.

and ye shall find rest unto your souls"

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:29-30 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/matt/11.29-30).

May we all come to know the love of the Savior of our souls, have him take our burdens, and in him find rest.  He descended below all things in the Garden and on the cross so that he would have the gentleness and compassion to comfort and lift us in our trials.  He is the gentle Christ.

As you pray to our Father in Heaven, I hope you take the time to thank him for the gift of his only begotten son, our loving Savior, and let the Father know how much you love him and the Savior.  Then take a moment to feel of the Love he has for you, the love which changes all.

You will never be the same again.

Picture is The Gentle Christ by Del Parson.  It was originally commissioned by Elder David B. Haight, former member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, who wanted Del to paint Christ with somewhat of a gentler look, because he felt it was more representative of Christ and the love that comes from him.

"God so loved the world..."

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  (http://bit.ly/12NHwk2) Of this truth the Savior said to Peter "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (http://bit.ly/16y1Yey)

The Savior loves us with a love we cannot comprehend.  He descended below all things so that we may return back to him and our Father in Heaven again with our families.  He will ever be there for us to strengthen us, lift us, and comfort us, and to bind us together in love.

May we all take the time to pour our hearts out in gratitude to our Father in Heaven for the gift of his only begotten son, and take a moment afterwards to wait for the Lord's response through the spirit.  Take a moment for him to impress upon you just how much he loves you.  He is real and is the source of that love.

Then, may we love others as the Savior would have us do.

I am the Bread of Life

The Savior truly is the living bread and water of life.  "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst" (John 6:35 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/6.35)

The words of Christ are more important than the very food we eat. We are wholly dependent upon the Savior for all we are and have.  He is there for us every moment of every day.  His power is what sustains us.  May we be grateful for the spiritual and physical "bread of life" that he provides us to sustain us.

Reach out in prayer, and be sustained in all that you do, and in all of your righteous desires.  Our loving Father will help us as we turn to him in the name of Christ.

Are we in his light, as little children?

We are our Father in Heaven's little children.  "Little children seem to have an inborn goodness; a simple faith and natural desire to be taught and to walk in His light...It is a light that warms their hearts and lets them know that they are loved and always in His sight."

The Savior has said "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." (Mark 10:14 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/mark/10.14).

Do we look to the Savior, as this child in the picture does?  We are all children of a loving Father in Heaven, and as we turn to our Savior, and trust in him, he will ever comfort and strengthen us in our trials in life.  He will lift our souls, and soothe our troubled hearts.  For we are his children.

May we ever remember that.

The Righteous example of Nephi Guiding the Ship

May we be grateful for the examples of following the Lord given to us of Nephi.  "behold, I took the compass, and it did work whither I desired it. And it came to pass that I prayed unto the Lord...And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did guide the ship, that we sailed again towards the promised land.  And it came to pass that after we had sailed for the space of many days we did arrive at the promised land; and we went forth upon the land, and did pitch our tents; and we did call it the promised land." (1 Nephi 18:21-23 http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/18.21-23)

May we all have the faith of Nephi, and rely on the Lord to guide us to our destination, both on earth, and back to our heavenly home.  May our faith become unshakable, steady, and may we be firm in our resolve to follow the Savior in all things.

"there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him"

"And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." Luke 22:41-44 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/22.41-44).

Our Savior experienced all of this so that we could repent of our sins, and return to the presence of our Father in Heaven again.

May we ever turn to him in all things, for he is our Redeemer and Savior, the Creator of all things from the beginning, our advocate with the Father.  His love for us is what drove him to endure the pain he did.

And he did that so he could lift our burdens, and comfort us in our trials.  The only perfect man who took upon him our pains and sins.  Just as he himself was strengthened, he now strengthens us.

He has ransomed us forever.  May we ever be grateful for that.

"The Mighty God...the Prince of Peace"

Our Savior and Redeemer is over all, and has redeemed us forever.

"And the Government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace"  (Isaiah 9:6).

This glorious Savior is real, and touches the hearts of all.  Indeed, if we serve him and serve others, we experience, as the two men on emmaus road "Did not our hearts burn within us...?"  May we seek him out, so that we may be filled with the spirit.  For he suffered so that may happen.

Christ accomplished the atonement, and bled from every pore, and suffered on the cross, and "partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men." He rose from the dead, appeared unto many, and ascended back to the Father, and has restored his gospel in the Latter-Days to prepare for his second coming.

And he will come again.  As the Joseph Smith Translation of Revelation 1:7 says: "For behold, he cometh in the clouds with ten thousands of his saints in the kingdom, clothed with the glory of his Father. And every eye shall see him; and they who pierced him..."

And his salvation will be forever, as Doctrine and Covenants 76:108 says, "Then shall he be crowned with the crown of his glory, to sit on the throne of his power to reign forever and ever."

And we will dwell with him and our families in the Celestial Kingdom as we live worthily, as is said in D & C 76: 94-95: "They who dwell in his presence are the church of the Firstborn; and they see as they are seen, and know as they are known, having received of his fulness and of his grace;

And he makes them equal in power, and in might, and in dominion."

May we ever live worthy to live in Glory with our Savior and Redeemer, our Heavenly Parents, and our Families, ancestors, and posterity forever.

What a glorious promise.

"The Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New"

"He was the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New. Under the direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3). Though sinless, He was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. He “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38), yet was despised for it. His gospel was a message of peace and goodwill. He entreated all to follow His example. He walked the roads of Palestine, healing the sick, causing the blind to see, and raising the dead. He taught the truths of eternity, the reality of our premortal existence, the purpose of our life on earth, and the potential for the sons and daughters of God in the life to come." (The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles.  Learn more about Christ at  http://bit.ly/1bAqOhI )

As stated by his special witnesses, The Savior, Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the World, who taught the truths of eternity, and continues to do so through apostles and prophets.  He is there for us as we turn to him.  May we ever be grateful for him.

Do we truly know the love of the Savior?  Do we truly know who we are, as sons and daughters of God, and joint-heirs with Christ?  Do we realize the potential we have because of the atonement of Christ?  And do we reach out to our Father in Heaven in prayer, in the name of Christ?  Do we find rest in him and peace in him?  And do we know that all of what we receive is because of Christ?

May we seek him out, feel of his love for us, and at the end, return to dwell with him forever.

Christ's "Greatest outpouring of spiritual emotion"

“Come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness” (Moroni 10:32)
As you act on the invitation to come unto Christ, you will come to understand your sacred duty to “invite all to come unto Christ” (D&C 20:59) as well.

The Savior beckons all of us to come, follow him.  Elder Talmage calls it "the greatest outpouring of spiritual emotion" because the Savior is pleading with us to follow him because he knows it is the only way to happiness in this life and the world to come.

He also knows all the pains we would ever go through, because he has experienced it, and longs to lift our burdens through his atoning sacrifice.

This is a loving, pleading Savior, who longs to bless us, to lift us, to comfort us, and to dwell with us.

May we ever remember that.

"...and with his stripes we are healed"

Please take a moment to read the beautiful words of Isaiah about the Savior, for the Savior knows us, understands us, as no one ever can, and has atoned for our sins because he loves us.  "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  ¶Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  (Isaiah 53:2-5 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/ot/isa/53.2-5 )

The Savior knows us, knows our trials, knows our challenges we face, and can forgive our sins, too.  There is nothing we could ever experience that he hasn't already experienced, and his greatest desire is that we reach out to him so he can comfort and strengthen us through the spirit.  May we ever rely on him, and turn to him in all things.

a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief

The Savior is there to comfort us as we reach out to him in Faith, for he understands our trials. "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: ...Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows..." (Isaiah 53:3-4 http://bit.ly/1cObHfQ )

The Savior went through the agony of Gethsemane, and the horrors of the Cross so that he would better be able to comfort and succor us in our trials, afflictions, pains, and suffering in this life. As one who knows where we have been, he can lift us higher.

He knows each of us intimately, and with a love that we cannot comprehend, but it changes us when we feel of it as we pour out our hearts in prayer, and as we serve others.

May our hearts be drawn out in gratitude for the Loving, Kind Savior who descended below all things so he could lift all things. He is our Savior, Redeemer, and our all.

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes

The Savior says this about the faithful "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelations 21:4 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/rev/21.4)

But before that time, the Lord can figuratively, through the spirit, wipe away all tears from our eyes .  If we will turn to him in faith, he can and will comfort us.  He has said "come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/matt/11.28)

As you turn to the Savior in prayer both in good times and in bad, you can feel the spirit wrap around you, almost as a warm blanket, soothing your soul.

Pour your hearts out to God, and because of Christ's atonement, he can give you the rest only he can give.

Oh how praying rests the weary

We can learn much about praying to our Father in Heaven from how children pray.  They so easily feel the spirit, and trustingly pray.  They can rely on the Lord so easily.  My 6 year old daughter the other day said to me, when I was feeling down, that I needed to "pray to Jesus to help you feel better."

Prayer is such a powerful way to connect with our Father in Heaven, and feel his love and the Love of the Savior through the spirit.

We are counselled to pray always (Colossians, Ephesians, 3 Nephi, D & C), and to have our hearts drawn out constantly in prayer (Alma 34:27 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/34.27 ).

May we do that, and remember the words of the hymn:

Ere you left your room this morning
Did you think to pray
In the name of Christ our Saviour
Did you sue for loving favour
As a shield today?

Oh how praying rests the weary
Prayer will change the night to day
So when life seems dark and dreary
Don't forget to pray.

Pour your heart out to your Father in Heaven.  Rely on the atonement of the Savior in all things, and you will be able to have the spirit to be with you to calm, strengthen, comfort, and help you in all ways.

"The Son of Man Hath Descended below them all..."

The Prophet Joseph received the following comfort when he and the saints were going through trials during the time Joseph was in Liberty Jail.  "The Son of Man hath descended below them all, art thou greater than he?"

The Greatest of all will never let us suffer more than we are able, but will lift us and comfort us.  If we pour our hearts out to our Father in Heaven, in the name of Christ, through the power of the Atonement, and through the spirit, he can and will lift us.

He is the compassionate Savior, he who descended below all things so that he might "draw all men unto him," so that we may be comforted in this life, and gain eternal life in the world to come.

He lives today, and is there.  Reach out to him in prayer and find out for yourself.

and with me ye shall find rest

After we have finished our mission in this life, can we imagine being embraced by the Savior when it is time to return home?  What joy will fill our hearts at that time if we have endured to the end and followed him.  Can we imagine him saying to us:

"Come unto me in my kingdom; and with me ye shall find rest” (3 Ne. 28:3 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/28.3

Further, can we imagine after a lifetime of service to the Lord being welcomed back by him saying "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matthew 25:21 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/matt/25.21 )

What sublime peace will fill our hearts at that time.  Until it is our time to return home, may we live worthy of the companionship of the spirit, for it is sent by our Father in Heaven in the Savior's name for us, to comfort, strengthen, and help us.  When we have the spirit we feel just as if the Savior were there, beside us.  I pray that all may feel of that joy, for it is free unto all who come unto the Savior.

Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God

From Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ, men who have seen the Resurrected Savior:  "Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God...He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come."  (The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles.  More at http://bit.ly/1bAqOhI )

And from the Prophet Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!  For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father" (Doctrine and Covenants 76:22-24 http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/76.22-24)

The Savior, Jesus Christ is real.  He truly does live, and because he lives, we all will live again.  We all will have the opportunity to return again to the Father because of him.

Follow him, seek him out, serve others as we serve him, and he will ever be at our side, as our Prophet has said.

And pour your hearts out in gratitude to the Father for the Matchless gift of his Beloved son (The Living Christ, testimony of the Apostles), and feel of his love for you in your hearts and souls.

Gethsemane-And there appeared an angel, strengthening him

"And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.  And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.  And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.  And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping..." (Luke 22:41-44 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/22.41-44)

My Heart is pained yet full of gratitude when I think of what the Savior went through for me, and for all of us.  This loving, pure Beloved Son sweat blood from his pores, and then in this hour of greatest agony, he found his apostles asleep, and then, finally, needed an angel to strengthen him.  Our Elder Brother and Savior did this for each and every one of us, because of the love he has for us.

Then, according to scripture and Elder Talmage, on the cross, he continued to pay the price for our sins, and only when he said "it is finished" and died, did the overbearing pain, which was greater than a mortal man can bear, finally cease.

The price has already been paid.  How often do we reach out for forgiveness, or petition him to be comforted in our pains and trials?  Do we rely on our Savior to help us in times of need?  He has paid the price, and gained power over all.  Pour out your hearts to him, and be comforted.

"Jesus is His Son, the Only Begotten of the Father in the flesh"

“With all my heart and the fervency of my soul, I lift up my voice in testimony as a special witness and declare that God does live. Jesus is His Son, the Only Begotten of the Father in the flesh. He is our Redeemer; He is our Mediator with the Father. He it was who died on the cross to atone for our sins. He became the firstfruits of the Resurrection. Because He died, all shall live again... May the whole world know it and live by that knowledge.” President Thomas S Monson (http://www.lds.org/topics/jesus-christ).

The testimony of the Lord's Prophet of his divinity is always accompanied by the spirit which testifies of the truth of the Reality of the Savior.  May we, through the spirit, come to a knowledge of the reality of the Savior, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, our Advocate with the Father, the Holy One.

"I knew I was in the Presence of the Savior of the World"

From a man who was in the Presence of the Savior in the Temple, "I was unable to see him, but I knew he was coming towards me in the celestial room.  Then I felt of his presence and his love for me.  I have never felt love like that before, and I knew I was in the presence of the Savior of the World." The Blessings of the Temple are available to all the pure in heart, as the Doctrine and Covenants says  "my glory shall rest upon it; Yea, and my presence shall be there, for I will come into it, and all the pure in heart that shall come into it shall see God" (D & C 97:15-16 http://bit.ly/14GTNd6 )

The temple is the house of the Lord.  How often do we pray to feel of the presence of the Lord through the veil when we go to his holy house?  May we all go there often to feel of the spirit, and to feel of the presence of the Lord as we are able to do the work and feel the gratitude of those who have gone before us.

When Mothers Day brings Sadness

To all women who have a hard time with Mothers Day, for so many different reasons, I hope you know you are loved. No matter what your imperfections, no matter what, you are loved. So many women experience sadness on a day that is supposed to be a day honoring women. Know that you are not alone.

There are other women who are feeling similar things because of trials they have or are going through, and who bear scars from past trials that seem to open anew, painfully, with each Mothers Day. And sometimes it feels like God is far away.

But know that in addition to the others who have felt as you do, there is a loving, caring, perfect Savior, Jesus Christ, who understands perfectly what you are going through. He is one who can relate to your exact situation. And he loves you, cries with you, is pained for you, and loves you.

And there is someone else who understands. We don't talk a lot about Mother in Heaven, but since the Church has come out with essays on the subject (https://www.lds.org/topics/mother-in-heaven), I will simply state a couple of things we do know. Mother in Heaven understands loss and sadness because a third of all her children were cast down, never to return, after they rejected our Father's plan.

So you are not alone in the heavens. Loving, Heavenly Parents, and a loving Savior know what it is like to weep, and to have sorrow that seems greater than you can bear. I hope you all remember that you are choice daughters of Loving Parents, and that one day all things will be made right. But until then, know that they understand, and you can be comforted by the Holy Spirit as you reach out in prayer.

The Women in our lives, Daughters of the Almighty

May we all revere womanhood, and the sacred, virtuous daughters of God our women and mothers are. James E Faust called Womanhood "The Highest Place of Honor," and President Gordon B Hinckley has spoken of the Sanctity of Womanhood. He says this:

“Of all the creations of the Almighty, there is none more beautiful, none more inspiring than a lovely daughter of God who walks in virtue with an understanding of why she should do so, who honors and respects her body as a thing sacred and divine, who cultivates her mind and constantly enlarges the horizon of her understanding, who nurtures her spirit with everlasting truth.” (President Hinckley)

These women whether mothers of their own children, or watching after others children, are the hands of heaven on earth. Their love and caring nature flows from God himself, and they are the ones who nurture the rising generation.

May we ever reverence the Women in our lives, and cherish them.

The Hands of Heaven on Earth-The Women in our Lives

The Relief Society teaches that the women in our lives are the hands of heaven on earth, and there is no phrase more descriptive I can think of than that to describe the women and mothers in our lives.

May we realize the divine nature they have, and show the love to these daughters of God that the Savior would show to them if he were here. For they are righteously raising his children, both as parents and leaders. They raise either their own or help raise others children.

From President Hinckley "wherever you may live, may the windows of heaven be opened and blessings come down upon you. May you live with love one for another. May you reach down to lift up those whose burdens are heavy. May you bring light and beauty to the world and particularly into your homes and into the lives of your children.
You know as I do that God our Eternal Father lives. He loves you. You know as I do that Jesus is the Christ, His immortal Son, our Redeemer. You know that the gospel is true and that heaven is near if we will cultivate it in our lives.”

Thy Faith hath made thee whole; go in peace

This is a wonderful story of the healing power of the Savior, of his kindness and mercy, and of the remarkable faith of a woman.

From the new testament:  "And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace."

How often do we reach out to the Savior?  How often do we have faith in him enough to heal us of not just physical maladies, but our emotional, mental, and other trials we may go through.  He is ever there for us, and through faith, and through the priesthood, miracles may be wrought.

Have faith in him, pour your heart to him in prayer, and know that he will help you in the trials of your life.  At the time you feel the most alone, and that you can't make it any more, then is the time you will be comforted, strengthened, encouraged, and will be able to feel of his love.  He atoned for you, so he could help you at the time you most need it.

Rely on him.  Follow him.  Live with Him.

The Savior is our Light and Life of the World

"And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning" (3 Nephi 11:11 http://bit.ly/12Rtrnb ).

Because he drank the bitter cup, the Savior is the light and the life of the world.  He is our Savior, our Redeemer, and the only way back to our heavenly home.  He is ever there for us, there to comfort us, and there to strengthen us in our trials, for he understands any trial we may be called to go through.

May we seek Christ out, learn of him, as the scripture says, and follow him, as he beckoned in another scripture.  He stands with open arms waiting for us, and will ever be by our side, as our prophet has said.

He is real, and as the angel said, He is risen.  May we reach out to our God, the Resurrected, Glorified Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, and through the spirit, find peace in this life, and be able to embrace him and have life eternal in the world to come.

The first scripture is from the Book of Mormon, where Christ appeared to the people of the Americas after he was resurrected.  You can read the promise of the Book of Mormon online here http://bit.ly/10t8QYm and pray about its truth, or get a free copy by going to http://bit.ly/11WKJ1G

"Not our will, but thine be done"

The Savior prayed to the Father "nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." His purpose for coming here, the atonement, was upon him, and he drank that bitter cup so that we might live with him again.

May we remember that Love was the reason for this "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"

The Savior was obedient in all things that were asked of him, and because of that, we can return and live with him and our Father in Heaven again.  The Lord doesn't ask us to go through what the Savior went through, just wants us to be obedient to his commandments, and turn to him in our trials.

May we remember the sacrifice of the Savior, and as we pray to our Father in Heaven in gratitude for the Savior's sacrifice, may we feel of his love for us.

And when we have trials that we must endure, may we not revile, but turn to God, as the Savior did, and humbly say "not my will, but thine be done."  If we do, we will be exalted on high.

"Be not afraid...for the Lord thy God is with thee"

May we all trust in the Lord as little children and take his hand, so that he can lead us through the storms of life back to our Heavenly Home.  The Scriptures say, "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest"  (Joshua 1:9).

Though we may be buffeted by the storms of life, though the current threatens to sweep us away, yet if we will reach out and take the Savior's hand, pour our hearts out to him in prayer, he will ever be there to guide us safely home.

May we ever trust in him.
