We are able to return to God through the atonement of Christ and Repentance. Through repentance we find the rest and peace of God, made possible through his suffering. As is said in scripture:
"For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.
And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.
And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!" D&C 18:11-13
And again the Lord says in other scripture:
"Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more." (D&C 58:42)
May we ever make repentance a part of our lives, so that we may become more like the Savior, become more perfected. The Savior invites us here and in other scripture to "come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," (Matthew 11:28), and above we read he rejoices when we repent and come unto him. Who would not want to live forever with such a Savior?
And because he has risen from the dead, we all will again as well, and he will draw all people to him, both spiritually and physically. What a marvellous blessing.
May we all repent, and find rest in the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of the World, and the Author of our Salvation. He who will save us.
