What the Resurrection really means to us and to Christ

What joy must have filled the Savior's heart when he was resurrected.  The victory over sin and death was completed!  At that time, Christ knew the prophecies had been fulfilled in him.  As God, he would be able to see with a perfect view all the people who would be saved because of what he had done, and to know how that triumph would lift each person individually.  What joy must have filled his heart at that time.

This picture depicts him looking up, rejoicing, no doubt connecting with the Father who was waiting to welcome him home.  Soon after this, The Apostles and Mary were at the tomb, and he appeared to Mary, and said as she was reaching for him-

"Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."

I hope we take the time to ponder and reflect upon the import of what happened that sacred day, and pour our hearts out in prayer to the Father for the blessings of the Savior's sacrifice in the Garden, on the Cross, and with the empty tomb.

And may we ever follow and serve him, and others.
