"Why stand ye gazing up into heaven?" Are we ready?

"And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." (Acts 1:10-11)

The Savior still lives today, and works for our salvation.  As our prophet says, he is in the details of our lives, and he will come again, in power and great glory, to rule and reign upon the earth, as he and his servants complete the work begun from the foundations of the world.

This church will never again be taken from the earth, and with Christ at its head, will be the means of bringing billions to a knowledge of Christ, of helping people to remember that they are children of a loving Father in Heaven.

As these angels said, Christ will come again, in like manner, and will finish his work upon the earth.  And we will be able to help in that work, no matter what side of the veil we will be on, because he is the Savior of both the living and the dead.

May we ever seek to serve others, to help with missionary work, and go to the temple often to do the work of the Lord.  May we be a shining example to all of what a man or woman of Christ is.

As we do that, we will be prepared for the time when, as the two angels said, the Savior comes again in like manner as those New Testament saints saw him ascend into heaven.  Whether we are on earth, or are with the thousands of saints who descend from heaven, may we ever prepare for that glorious day, and for the millenial reign of the Savior on this earth.
