The Savior said "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."
He said this on the Sermon on the Mount, just after the Beatitudes. He was speaking to all of us here. All of us in the body of Christ's church are the Salt of the earth.
Luke also relates that the Savior said "but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?"
How will those of the earth be blessed if we do not do our part and live the gospel? It seems the blessings that come to the earth come from us living the gospel and spreading that.
Are we making our world better? Are we that salt, or as has been stated in other scripture, are we that light on a hill that cannot be hid?
I pray that we may become that salt and that light.
