"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden..."

The phrase Come unto me appears many times in scripture.  Probably the most well knows of the Savior using this phrase is in Matthew 11:28 where he says "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

To better understand the depth of these words, Elder Talmage in Jesus The Christ calls this invitation the "greatest outpouring of spiritual emotion."  Here the Savior is entreating us with all he has in him to come unto him and find rest.

He who spent his whole life comforting, healing, and teaching the sick, afflicted, poor, and downtrodden is aware of us and our trials and sins.  He took them upon him in the Garden and on the cross.  He has already paid the price for our sins, our trials, and all that we may go through.

And just as he did for others when he was on earth, he still beckons us to come unto him and find rest, as he does in this picture.

May we ever do that, and feel of his love and comfort.
