Do we choose the good part? The lesson in Mary and Martha

"Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:38-42)

Do we sometimes get so busy with our days that we miss the opportunities to become close to the Savior?  Do we miss opportunities to read in the scriptures, to ponder the words therein, and pray about their meaning?

May we all put aside the TV and movies, and take some time to focus on "the good part."

The Book of Mormon, along with the Bible, is another Testament of Christ.   Find out for yourself and read the Promise of the Book of Mormon online now at http://bit.ly/10t8QYm or get a free copy at http://bit.ly/11WKJ1G
