Do we avail ourselves of the power of prayer? It is our way of communing with our maker, who hears the silent pleadings of our heart, and will answer our prayers. Scripture says the following of prayer:
"let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day" (Alma 37:36-37).
What peaceful promises. May we ever pour out our hearts to the Lord, and he can and will answer our prayers in his own due time, and may we pray often, and our hearts be drawn out in prayer all the day long, that we may be blessed from on high.
May we ever do that, is my prayer.
