Powerful Testimonies of Christ from Just before King Benjamin became king

There were a string of record keepers in the Book of Omni.  One of those was Amaleki, and he is the one who passed the records to King Benjamin.  His words were brief, but carried a powerful testimony of Christ, his gospel, gifts of the spirit, and a plea to come unto him.  Read below Omni 1:25-26

"And it came to pass that I began to be old; and, having no seed, and knowing king Benjamin to be a just man before the Lord, wherefore, I shall deliver up these plates unto him, exhorting all men to come unto God, the Holy One of Israel, and believe in prophesying, and in revelations, and in the ministering of angels, and in the gift of speaking with tongues, and in the gift of interpreting languages, and in all things which are good; for there is nothing which is good save it comes from the Lord: and that which is evil cometh from the devil.

And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved."

These are powerful because they are the words Christ would say if he were here.  If we were to be in the presence of Christ, we would feel of his love for us, we would feel of his majesty and grace, and would know that he longs for all to come unto him.  For he has already paid the price for their sins. He majestically pleads for us to come unto him and to gain salvation without money and without price.  He gives to all freely. But, as the picture suggests, he waits at the door.  We have to be the one to let him in.

May we ever come unto Christ, as Christ invites us through Amaleki, is my prayer.
