The Powerful Writings of Jacob, who saw Christ, as did Nephi and Isaiah

Jacob's testimony of Christ is important because he saw Jesus Christ, as did Nephi and Isaiah.  Nephi mentions that below when he was speaking about Christ;

"And now I, Nephi, write more of the words of Isaiah, for my soul delighteth in his words. For I will liken his words unto my people, and I will send them forth unto all my children, for he verily saw my Redeemer, even as I have seen him.

And my brother, Jacob, also has seen him as I have seen him" (2 Nephi 11:2-3).

Jacob's teachings take several chapters-I will list just a couple of highlights here.

"Nevertheless, the Lord has shown unto me...that the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, should manifest himself unto [the Jews] in the flesh; and after he should manifest himself they should scourge him and crucify him, according to the words of the angel who spake it unto me..."(2 Nephi 10:3).  In another place, Jacob says the Following;

"For, for this intent have we written these things, that they may know that we knew of Christ, and we had a hope of his glory many hundred years before his coming; and not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory, but also all the holy prophets which were before us.

Behold, they believed in Christ and worshiped the Father in his name, and also we worship the Father in his name. And for this intent we keep the law of Moses, it pointing our souls to him; and for this cause it is sanctified unto us for righteousness, even as it was accounted unto Abraham in the wilderness to be obedient unto the commands of God in offering up his son Isaac, which is a similitude of God and his Only Begotten Son.

Wherefore, we search the prophets, and we have many revelations and the spirit of prophecy; and having all these witnesses we obtain a hope, and our faith becometh unshaken, insomuch that we truly can command in the name of Jesus and the very trees obey us, or the mountains, or the waves of the sea"(Jacob 4:4-6).

What a powerful witness of the reality and power of Christ is conveyed here in these passages. Christ is the God over all the earth, and has not forgotten any of his children.  This is just a taste of the testimonies of Christ that are in the Book of Mormon.

May we read it, along with the Bible, and through the spirit, come to know of the truth of these words. For they will draw us closer to Christ.  And as we have faith in him, he will redeem us.
