"This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears"

Christ Declares in Nazareth that He is the Messiah, the fulfillment of the prophecy given by Isaiah.  "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.  And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias.

And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.  And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."  (Luke 4:16-21)

After that, Christ escaped them as they attempted to kill him.  Jesus Christ was and is the Promised Messiah.  He lives today and continues on with this great work of Salvation for the souls of man, and through him, prophecies continue to be fulfilled.

Today we follow the words of his living prophets on the earth today.  The spirit will testify of the truth of their words, and we become obedient to God by following them.  And we have the words in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other holy writ.

Christ loves each of us, individually with a love that is unique to you.  This is why he has given us the scriptures and prophets on earth today.  It is to prepare us for his second coming, and then later for the day when he will one day stand to judge all.  At that time may our minds and hearts be purified, so that we may be worthy to live in his presence and the presence of the Father.
