I am humbled at the price that was paid for our sins by our Savior, Jesus Christ. About the Garden we read: "And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping..." (Luke 22:41-44).
If the Savior only had to atone for you, he would have done it willingly, all so that you could feel of his love and the Love of the Father.
The Savior was there for all of us then, and he is always there for us, even at times where we feel like he is far away. Pour out your hearts to him, study him, and become like him as you do his work. Lose yourself in his service and you will find a love and peace that is better than anything in this world.
And because of Gethsemane, we will be able to return back to the presence of the Father, having our sins washed white in the blood of the Lamb, as the 3rd Chapter of Revelations says. And all who come to Christ may do that-our families, our ancestors, and our posterity to come.
May we ever be grateful for that. But there is more to come later...
