Christ Raising the Daughter of Jairus

May we all know that Christ has power over all. "But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment" (Mark 5:40-42 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/mark/5.40-42?lang=eng#39 )

Their Great and True Shepherd...

May we all come to a knowledge of our redeemer and true shepherd, even Jesus Christ. "And this is according to the prophecy, that they shall again be brought to the true knowledge, which is the knowledge of their Redeemer, and their great and true shepherd, and be numbered among his sheep" (Helaman 15:13 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/15.13?lang=eng#12 )

Share this link to the Savior's visit with your friends

Please share this link with your friends.  They can read the Book of Mormon online where the Savior visited the Americas and then pray about it to know if it really happened.  https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/11?lang=eng  You never know whose life you may touch by sharing this link and sharing your testimony.  I have already had someone tell me that his son investigating the church was touched by some of these posts.  It is possible to touch people's lives, either through telling them, or by simply emailing your testimony with this link.  These people are our spirit brothers and sisters from the preexistence, ones who undoubtedly shouted for joy at the prospects of coming to earth.  How great would be our joy for just one person who was brought to the knowledge of the truth, and generations of their posterity as a result.

The Living Christ

"Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. Share this message with others

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger" (Luke 2:7) I sometimes wish like Alma, "O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people! Please take the time to time to share this picture of savior, and the message that he still lives, and watches over the children of men, working for the salvation of our souls.

And she brought forth her firstborn son...

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger" (Luke 2:7). Over 2000 years ago, the Savior was born in a lowly stable, watched over by the angels of heaven. This great church is a continuation of his life and mission, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. May we all take the opportunity to be grateful this time of year for the Blessings we have because of the Life of the Savior, commemorated at Christmastime. His love did not just begin at his birth. It reaches from before the foundations of the World and into the eternities and beyond. Please take the time to thank our Father in Heaven for the Life, atonement, death, resurrection, and work of the Savior, for "[He is] the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/14.6?lang=eng#5 )

The angel of the Lord came upon them...

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2 8-11 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/2?lang=eng )

Joseph and Mary go to Bethlehem

"And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed...And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child" (Luke 2:1-5 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/2.1-5?lang=eng#primary )

The Spirit of Christmas

"When we have the spirit of Christmas, we remember Him whose birth we commemorate at this season of the year: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). In our day the spirit of giving gifts plays a large role in commemorating the Christmas season. I wonder if we might profit by asking ourselves, What gifts would the Lord have me give to Him or to others at this precious season of the year?...In this marvelous dispensation of the fulness of times, our opportunities to love and give of ourselves are indeed limitless, but they are also perishable. Today there are hearts to gladden, kind words to say, deeds to be done, and souls to be saved." The Living Christ

Jesus is "The Living Christ" "Though sinless, He was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. He “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38), yet was despised for it. His gospel was a message of peace and goodwill. He entreated all to follow His example. He walked the roads of Palestine, healing the sick, causing the blind to see, and raising the dead. He taught the truths of eternity, the reality of our premortal existence, the purpose of our life on earth, and the potential for the sons and daughters of God in the life to come.

He instituted the sacrament as a reminder of His great atoning sacrifice. He was arrested and condemned on spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die on Calvary’s cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who would ever live upon the earth.

We solemnly testify that His life, which is central to all human history, neither began in Bethlehem nor concluded on Calvary. He was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world.

He rose from the grave to “become the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20). As Risen Lord, He visited among those He had loved in life. He also ministered among His “other sheep” (John 10:16) in ancient America. In the modern world, He and His Father appeared to the boy Joseph Smith, ushering in the long-promised “dispensation of the fulness of times” (Ephesians 1:10). (The Living Christ, The Testimony of the Apostles http://jesuschrist.lds.org/SonOfGod/eng/testimonies-of-him/articles/the-living-christ-the-testimony-of-the-apostles-of-the-church-of-jesus-christ-of-latter-day-saints )

The Savior of the World - Article

An article about the life, mission, atonement, resurrection, and work of the Savior, Jesus Christ. http://www.squidoo.com/the-savior-of-the-world-jesus-christ From the article: "I give my testimony that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and in him is the fulness of Salvation. He came in the meridian of time, and he will come again, as has been prophesied. He loves each of us with a love we cannot comprehend, but as we come to know him better through pouring out our hearts to him, and studying about him in the scriptures, he will help us to become more like him, for he knows that is the way to true happiness. He Lives. He is a glorified, exalted, Savior of the World, and he still beckons all to come to him.
The Savior, Jesus Christ still lives, and loves his children. His love goes from before the beginning of the world and extends into the eternities and beyond."

In the Arms of His Love

May we all follow the Savior, keep his commandments, and be "eternally encircled in the arms of [our Savior's] love." "I have beheld his glory, and I am encircled about eternally in the arms of his love" (2 Nephi 1:15 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/1.15?lang=eng#14 )

Little Children are Alive in Christ - A note to the Tragedy

In the light of the Tragedy in Connecticut, our hearts go out to the family of these children, and our Prayers are with you as you struggle to go on. As tragic as it is, it is comforting to know that children go back to our Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ when they die. "And their little children need no repentance, neither baptism. Behold, baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the remission of sins. But little children are alive in Christ, even from the foundation of the world" (Moroni 8:11-12 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/moro/8.11-12?lang=eng#10 )

"Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me..."

May we all read and ponder the words in the Book of Mormon, because the Savior showed the prophets who wrote in them our day, because he knew what we would need to know in our day. "Behold, the Lord hath shown unto me great and marvelous things concerning that which must shortly come, at that day when these things shall come forth among you. Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing" (Mormon 8:34-35 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/morm/8.34-35?lang=eng#33 )

Consider the Lilies

May we all trust in the Lord for everything, for he is the source of all we have.  "And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof" Matthew 6:28-34 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/matt/6.28-34?lang=eng#27 )

I am the Light and Life of the World

"And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning" (3 Nephi 11:11 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/11.11?lang=eng#10 ). He also said that the fulness of the everlasting Gospel was contained in it, as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants" (Joseph Smith-History 1:32-34 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/pgp/js-h/1.32-34?lang=eng#31 )

The Living Christ

From "The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles." "Of the Living Christ, the Prophet Joseph wrote: “His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying:

“I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am
he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father” (D&C 110:3–4).

Of Him the Prophet also declared: “And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!

“For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father—

“That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God” (D&C 76:22–24). http://jesuschrist.lds.org/SonOfGod/eng/testimonies-of-him/articles/the-living-christ-the-testimony-of-the-apostles-of-the-church-of-jesus-christ-of-latter-day-saints

The Love of the Savior - The Light of the World

The Love of the Savior extends from before the foundations of the Earth into the eternities and beyond. It never ends. The power of his love can change our hearts, and prepare us to live in the presence of God. Our salvation is his very reason for existence. He is personal enough to know the pains in the quiet chambers of our hearts, and can help transform those into lives filled with Love. He can work miracles in all of our lives, and truly does, if we but have faith and come unto him. "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 14:6 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/14.6?lang=eng#5 ;John 3:16 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/3.16?lang=eng#15 )

Share the Gospel, and Serve Others

There are so many people looking for the truth, but "know not where to find it." I hope you share your testimony of the Savior and His Gospel, or in other ways serve others. Think of the spirit being able to touch someone else because of something you did or said whether at home, at school, at work, or in our callings. The most valuable thing we can ever do is to share the Gospel, whether through teaching, being an example, or by comforting and serving others. As we do these things, we will have the Spirit of Christ with us, at this time of year and all year round.

From Bethlehem...Jesus Christ, the Son of God

"With the birth of the babe in Bethlehem, there emerged a great endowment—a power stronger than weapons, a wealth more lasting than the coins of Caesar. This child was to become the King of kings and Lord of lords, the promised Messiah—Jesus Christ, the Son of God." — Thomas S. Monson http://mormon.org/christmas
