He is Risen

On this Sunday, may we all be grateful for the Savior's atoning Sacrifice. He lives, and still works for the salvation of all our Father in Heaven's children. May we all do the same, and help other of our Father in Heaven's children know how to return again to him. He is Risen

How wonderful are the words "He is not here: for he is risen" Later, the Savior said to Mary "go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God" Our Father in Heaven Longs to hear from us.  As we pray to him and let him know how grateful we are for his son, we will be able to feel of his love for us at this Easter time.

None were with him - An Apostle's Easter Thoughts on Christ

Because the Savior walked that lonely path alone, we do not have to.  May we be grateful for that, and let our Father in Heaven know in our prayers just how much we love the Savior for what he has done for us.  If you are viewing this by email, click the title link above to be taken to where you may view this and other videos.

Jesus is Resurrected

And, on the third day came the victory over sin and death.  The Savior was resurrected, becoming the firstfruits of them that slept.  Because of this all of us may return to our Father in Heaven with our families again.

May we feel of the Savior's Love for us...

On this day, and at this time of year, may we remember the sacrifice of the Savior, and as we pray, may we feel of his love for us.  The Savior prayed "nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." The atonement was for us, so we could return to our Father in Heaven again: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (Scriptures Luke 22:42 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/22.42?lang=eng#41 ; John 3:16 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/3.16?lang=eng#15 ). Jesus is Laid in a Tomb...

After the agony of Gethsemane and Golgotha, the Lord's body was lovingly but hurriedly placed in a borrowed tomb.  Then, at the appointed day, angels rolled away the stone...

He is despised and rejected of men...

May we ever be grateful for the Sacrifice the Savior made for us. "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Jesus is Scourged and Crucified

The fourth in this week's series, and probably one of the most difficult Bible videos to watch, it reminds us of the Love the Savior has for us to willingly go through what he did for us.  May we ever be grateful that he didn't revile, but willingly was sacrificed for us.

Encircled in the Arms of his Love

We are the sheep of the good shepherd, and he loves all of us.  May we be encircled forever in the arms of his love.
"Don't put your eternal life at risk. Keep the commandments of God. If you have sinned, the sooner you begin to make your way back, the sooner you will find the sweet peace and joy that come with the miracle of forgiveness."

O Jerusalem

"I testify that Jesus Christ, born in Bethlehem, was and is the Only Begotten of the Father, the Lamb of God. He chose from before the foundations of the earth to be your Savior, my Savior, and the Savior of all we will ever know or meet."

—Henry B. Eyring, "Always", Ensign, Liahona, October 1999

From the artist: Greg Olsen about the picture, O Jerusalem:

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem…how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings…”

This is a Messianic exclamation of profound concern and unconditional love for all who have lost their way and suffer while wandering in spiritual darkness. As the slanting rays of the sun reflect upon the rooftops of Old Jerusalem, Christ reflects upon His life’s mission and upon those He came to serve and bless. His gaze takes in the glistening gold and marble of Herod’s Temple and the smoke of burnt offerings upon the altar. He was keenly aware that soon He would offer Himself up as the true Passover Lamb - “ the Lamb of God.” Here, upon the Mount of Olives, Jesus could see the day, like His mortal ministry, coming to a close. However, a new day always dawns and there is hope and comfort in His words, “Lo, I am with you always.” Just as He looked down upon the traveling pilgrims entering Jerusalem, He watches still from yet a higher vantage point, ready to extend His protective wing to all who seek Him."

No Greater Love...

At this Easter time, my Heart is pained yet full of gratitude when I think of what the Savior went through for me, and for all of us so that we could return and live with him, our Father in Heaven, and our families again. "And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping..." (Luke 22:41-44 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/22.41-44?lang=eng#40 ). He Lives!

At this Easter time of year, may we take a moment to be grateful for the Love the Savior showed and still shows. For he lives, having overcome all, and still works so that we may return to him and our Father in Heaven again. He has said "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/11.25?lang=eng#24 ). Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God

"He was the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New. Under the direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3)...We solemnly testify that His life, which is central to all human history, neither began in Bethlehem nor concluded on Calvary. He was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world...Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God...He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come." Behold your Little Ones...

Christ blessing the Children in the Book of Mormon.  May we remember that we are all children of God, and we should become as little children.  "and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them.  And when he had done this he wept again; And he spake unto the multitude, and said unto them: Behold your little ones.  And as they looked to behold they cast their eyes towards heaven, and they saw the heavens open, and they saw angels descending out of heaven as it were in the midst of fire; and they came down and encircled those little ones about, and they were encircled about with fire; and the angels did minister unto them" (3 Nephi 17:20-24 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/17.20-24?lang=eng#19 ).  Picture is Behold Your Little Ones by Del Parson.

Well Done...

Can we imagine, at the end of this life having done all our Father in Heaven asked of us, being able to live with our Father in Heaven, Savior, and Families again?  Can we imagine him saying to us as was said to the Faithful Servant, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." And the things which he prayed cannot be written...

The Savior praying in the Americas.  How must he pray for us? What marvelous things he must ask the Father for on our behalf.  "And when he had said these words, he himself also knelt upon the earth; and behold he prayed unto the Father, and the things which he prayed cannot be written, and the multitude did bear record who heard him. And after this manner do they bear record: The eye hath never seen, neither hath the ear heard, before, so great and marvelous things as we saw and heard Jesus speak unto the Father; And no tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father" (3 Nephi 17:15-17 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/17.15-17?lang=eng#14 ).  Picture is I Have Prayed for Thee by Del Parson.

Keeper of the Gate, and the Beatitudes

May we be people as the Savior would have us be, and find comfort in him. From the Sermon on the mount: "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you ( Matthew 5:3-12 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/matt/5.3-12?lang=eng#2 ) Picture is Keeper of the Gate, by Greg Olsen

Be Still and Know that I am God

From this month's First Presidency Message:
"'Linger, O blessed Redeemer!
Leave me alone no more,
And with joy I shall make the blest harbor
And rest on the blissful shore...'
Through tears and trials, through fears and sorrows, through the heartache and loneliness of losing loved ones, there is assurance that life is everlasting. Our Lord and Savior is the living witness that such is so. His words in holy writ are sufficient: “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). I testify to this truth." The Light of the World

The Love of the Savior extends from before the foundations of the Earth into the eternities and beyond. It never ends. The power of his love can change our hearts, and prepare us to live in the presence of God. Our salvation is his very reason for existence. He is personal enough to know the pains in the quiet chambers of our hearts, and can help transform those into lives filled with Love. He can work miracles in all of our lives, and truly does, if we but have faith and come unto him. "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 14:6 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/14.6?lang=eng#5 ;John 3:16 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/john/3.16?lang=eng#15 ) Picture is Light of the World, by Howard Lyon. Ere you left your room this morning
Did you think to pray
In the name of Christ our Saviour

Prayer will change the night to day
So when life seems dark and dreary
Don't forget to pray.

The Promise of the Book of Mormon - Share

Today's post is one to share with your friends.  Read the promise of the Book of Mormon Online here https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/moro/10.4-5?lang=eng#3 The Book of Mormon is the inspired Word of God. From the title page, it is "to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations" Prophets were told by God what to include in the book for us in our day. Moroni says "Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing." From the Prophet Joseph Smith “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book."
