Light of the World - Jesus Christ

"We bear testimony, as His duly ordained Apostles—that Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son." more at http://bit.ly/1bAqOhI

"God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes"

The Lord is there to comfort us, strengthen us, and help us through the spirit of the Holy Ghost, in good times and bad. "For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes" (Revelation 7:17 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/nt/rev/7.17?lang=eng#16 ).

May we all remember the love the Savior has for each of us, as we seek to be like him and pour out our hearts in prayer.

That they might not suffer...

Because of Jesus Christ, our tender-hearted older brother's Sacrifice, we can return back to the presence of our Father in Heaven again. "For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent; But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I; Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink— Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men."

Many of the Noble and Great Ones

All of us stood strong for Christ in the premortal life when the plan of Salvation was presented. Prophets and Apostles have said that many were among the noble and great ones. May we all stand strong for Christ, as we did before we were born. Please take a moment to read what Abraham said about when the plan was presented and know that you were there:

"Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones;

And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were good; and he said unto me: Abraham, thou art one of them; thou wast chosen before thou wast born.

And there stood one among them that was like unto God, and he said unto those who were with him: We will go down, for there is space there, and we will take of these materials, and we will
make an earth whereon these may dwell;

And we will prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them;

And they who keep their first estate shall be added upon; and they who keep not their first estate shall not have glory in the same kingdom with those who keep their first estate; and they who keep their second estate shall have glory added upon their heads for ever and ever.

And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first.

And the second was angry, and kept not his first estate; and, at that day, many followed after him." (Abraham 3:22-28 http://bit.ly/1apGWz8 )

What does the Savior ask the Father in our Behalf?

Plz take a moment to read this. How must the Savior pray for us? What marvelous things he must ask the Father for on our behalf? "And when he had said these words, he himself also knelt upon the earth; and behold he prayed unto the Father, and the things which he prayed cannot be written, and the multitude did bear record who heard him. And after this manner do they bear record: The eye hath never seen, neither hath the ear heard, before, so great and marvelous things as we saw and heard Jesus speak unto the Father; And no tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father" (3 Nephi 17:15-17 http://bit.ly/180Iu2k ).

Charity: The Love of Christ

The purpose of this life is to come to know the Savior that we may be filled with his love. "And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." (Ephesians 3:19)
To have that charity is to gain the fulness of God. "charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him." (Moroni 7:47 in the Book of Mormon)

The Book of Mormon is the Word of God

Please share this. Find out for yourself what the Book of Mormon is. Together with the Bible, The Book of Mormon is the inspired Word of God, a record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. From the title page, it is "to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations"

Prophets were told by God what to include in the book for us in our day. Moroni says "Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing."

For God to know what we would need to know in our day makes the Book of Mormon a priceless gift. May we read it prayerfully as we read the Bible.

Gethsemane

Please take a moment to read what the scriptures say about Gethsemane, and the price paid by the Savior: "And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared anangel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." (Luke 22:41-44http://bit.ly/176nSVT )

If the Savior only had to pay the price for one, and that one person were you, he would still atone. May we ever be grateful that our loving, kind, sensitive Savior paid an infinite price for the sins of each of us.

Strength of Israel

Christ is the Strength of Israel. On him hinges the entire plan of salvation, and through him and his servants the gospel will be preached to every creature, according to his commandments.

Mark 16:5 says "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."

Before the last day, every person who will or has ever lived upon the earth will have the chance to be blessed with the promises of the house of Israel.

We are all engaged in this great work. As the Prophet Joseph Smith said, "shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing. Let the dead speak forth anthems of eternal praise to the King Immanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, that which would enable us to redeem them out of their prison; for the prisoners shall go free." (D & C 128:22 http://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/128.22)

The Prisoners will be freed, all made possible by the power of the Atonement.

Lovest Thou Me...

May we all liken the words of the Savior to Peter unto ourselves, and follow the savior's counsel to feed his sheep, whether in our families, at home, at church, and in our communities, and in all places that we are.  Read how the Savior taught this to Peter.

"when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep." (John 21:15-17 http://bit.ly/154kTu6 )

How much do we love the Savior?  What are we willing to do for him?  How much do we love others?  Love others, and at the last day, we will find that we have become like the Savior, and will be able to feel of his loving embrace as he welcomes us home to live with him.

The Windows of Heaven opened on Our Father in Heaven's Daughters

The Relief Society teaches that the women in our lives are the hands of heaven on earth, and there is no phrase more descriptive I can think of than that to describe the women and mothers in our lives. May we realize the divine nature they have, and show the love to these daughters of God that the Savior would show to them if he were here. For they are righteously raising his children. And to those who have no children. You make such wonderful contributions, and the Lord has promised that if you don't have children here, you will in the next, and that no blessing will be witheld from you in the eternities.
From President Hinckley "wherever you may live, may the windows of heaven be opened and blessings come down upon you. May you live with love one for another. May you reach down to lift up those whose burdens are heavy. May you bring light and beauty to the world and particularly into your homes and into the lives of your children.
You know as I do that God our Eternal Father lives. He loves you. You know as I do that Jesus is the Christ, His immortal Son, our Redeemer. You know that the gospel is true and that heaven is near if we will cultivate it in our lives.”

"Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend. Woman at the Well

Said the Savior to the woman at the well; "Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

The Savior and the woman speak some more, and later..."The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he."

The Risen Lord

"And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto them saying: Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world. And it came to pass that the multitude went forth, and thrust their hands into his side, and did feel the prints of the nails in his hands and in his feet; and this they did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone forth, and did see with their eyes and did feel with their hands, and did know of a surety and did bear record, that it was he, of whom it was written by the prophets, that should come. And when they had all gone forth and had witnessed for themselves, they did cry out with one accord, saying: Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God! And they did fall down at the feet of Jesus, and did worship him" (3 Nephi 11:13-17 https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/3-ne/11.13-17?lang=eng#12 )

One Shepherd..."Behold, I am Jesus Christ..."

"And behold, the third time they did understand the voice which they heard; and it said unto them: Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name—hear ye him. And it came to pass, as they understood they cast their eyes up again towards heaven; and behold, they saw a Man descending out of heaven; and he was clothed in a white robe; and he came down and stood in the midst of them. And it came to pass that he stretched forth his hand and spake unto the people, saying: Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. Christ's Love - I am the Resurrection and the Life...

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (http://bit.ly/12NHwk2) Of this truth the Savior said to Peter "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (http://bit.ly/16y1Yey)

The Savior loves us with a love we cannot comprehend. He descended below all things so that we may return back to him and our Father in Heaven again with our families.

May we all take the time to pour our hearts out in gratitude to our Father in Heaven for the gift of his only begotten son, and take a moment afterwards to wait for the Lord's response through the spirit. Then, may we love others as the Savior would have us do.

Blessings of the Temple

If possible, may we all attend the temple often to feel of the presence of the Lord, for it is his holy house where the work of salvation is done. When there we are also in the presence of those who have gone before, who are grateful for the work we do for them when we are there.  If you are viewing this by email, click the title link to be taken to where you may view this.

The Book of Mormon: The Word of God

Nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done...

And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." (Luke 22:41-44 http://bit.ly/176nSVT )

If the Savior only had to pay the price for one, and that one person were you, he would still atone. May we ever be grateful that our loving, kind, sensitive Savior paid an infinite price for the sins of each of us.

Well Done, thou Good and Faithful Servant...Welcome

Can we imagine at the end of our lives, being welcomed back to our heavenly home, into the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ, to dwell with him and our Father in Heaven together with our families forever? May we come unto the Savior and in him find rest. As in the parable of the talents

"His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matthew 25:23 http://bit.ly/15yZetf )

And in the Book of Mormon "Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me " (3 Nephi 9:14 http://bit.ly/17A6NCE )

"Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.

And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning."
